Library and Information Services

A completely automated library equipped with Remote Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology with self check-in and check-out kiosks allows members to use the library on all days of the week. Come visit us, eat in our round-the-clock cafeteria and courtyard and relax with books and coffee as good company. 

Workshops

To revive your spent energies and to gain a new perspective attend workshops that are organised by us all round the year. English Language Centre

From courses for young learners and adults, to exam preparation courses, we offer a range of courses at our Chennai English Language centre.  You can also improve English language proficiency by accessing online learning resources.

National Programme on Technology 

Enhanced Learning 

In 2015-2016 we installed NPTEL  that is National Programmed  technology on 

enhanced  learning , a project funded by the  Ministry of Human Resource  development . It 

provide e-learning through online web and video courses in various subjects . There are 7 

Indian IITS  collaborated in this e- learning project.  NPTEL provide free online courseware in

 the form of web courses  and video lectures. Students can join in this courseware and they can

 receive valuable certificate  after completion of the courses.

National Programme on Technology 

Enhanced Learning 

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), provides e-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Management and Humanities. This is a joint initiative by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore. Other selected premier institutions also act as Associate Partner Institutions.

NPTEL is a curriculum building exercise and is directed towards providing learning materials in science and engineering by adhering to the syllabi of All India Council for Technical Education and the slightly modified curricula of major affiliating Universities. It has developed curriculum based video courses and web-based e-courses targeting students and faculty of institutions offering UG engineering programs.

Throughout history the role of the library was to serve as a storehouse, an archive of manuscripts, art, and important documents. The library was the center of information revered by most because each contained the foundational building blocks of information for all humanity.

In medieval times, books were valuable possessions far too expensive for most people to own. As a result, libraries often turned into a collections of lecterns with books chained to them.

Leading up to today libraries have consist9ed of large collections of books and other materials, primarily funded and maintained by cities or other institutions. Collections are often used by people who choose not to, or can not afford to, purchase books for themselves

The Library of MKJC  has large collection of books and thesis. Prepare and offer quality library services to support of learning, teaching and research.

v The reading area is also quite spacious with furniture that are ergonomically designed for long-hour studies.

v Prepare and avail library services that fulfill the needs and wants of users. Plan, implement and assess the information skills program for users. Manage and maintain relevant information resources in a systematic way so that it is easy to identify and access.

v Monitor and ensure the infrastructure availed is in good condition and used optimally.
